Deciding to write about Black spirituality wasn’t an easy choice. But my next FMC came to me with a story that needed to be told—one rooted in the weight that comes with having gifts, intuition, and abilities you didn’t ask for but must learn to carry.

I wanted to explore Hoodoo as it truly exists: a practice woven into Black culture, grounded in both the natural and the supernatural, used to create movement, healing, and change within the human experience.

Blending that world into a love story challenged me. It pushed me to write with more intention, more honesty. But staying true to my pen, I’m proud to bring this story to life—one filled with emotional depth, spiritual discovery, and the journey of becoming more than who you thought you were allowed to be.
